Rebecca Barber

Rebecca Barber is an independent consultant and PhD candidate at the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, University of Queensland. She was formerly an associate lecturer with the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership at Deakin University and has over 15 years of experience in humanitarian assistance, spanning a range of roles across both policy and practice. She has spent most of her career working with international NGOs, including Oxfam, Save the Children, the Norwegian Refugee Council and the International Rescue Committee, and has worked in both conflict and natural disaster contexts across Africa, South and South East Asia and the Pacific. She holds masters degrees in international development and international law, and has published on a wide range of issues across humanitarian assistance, human rights, international humanitarian law and international peace and security law.
