2011 Annual Lowy Lecture : 'Asia's rise, the West's fall'

The annual Lowy Lecture on Australia in the World is the highlight of our events calendar. The 2011 lecture was delivered by Lionel Barber, the editor of the Financial Times, who visited Australia as a guest of the Institute. In his lecture, 'Asia's Rise, the West's Fall?' delivered on 17 November, Barber examined the implications of Asia's rise for the world and offered some prescriptions for accommodating the rising Asian powers in a new economic order for the 21st century.
