Biography

Angela Evans is a Research Associate for the International Security Program and a Convenor of the Lowy Institute’s 2011 New Voices Conference. She also provides support for projects conducted by the Director of Studies on Australian foreign policy issues. Angela joined the Institute in 2009, assisting with the Leadership Mapping Project, the annual Lowy Institute Poll, and research for the Global Issues Program.

Prior to joining the Institute, Angela served as Vice-President of the NSW United Nations Youth Association, conducting a number of educational workshops and conferences on international relations for

young people. She has also worked as an ARC Researcher in International History at the University of Sydney.

Angela has a University Medal and first class Honours degree in history and international relations from the University of Sydney. Her thesis examined the motivations and dynamics of Australian UN Security Council bids. She will attend the University of Cambridge in late 2011 to study law.
