Samar Azazi
Samar Azazi is a Yemeni scholar who focuses on women, gender, development, and post-colonialism in the Middle East. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Education from Aden University, Aden, Yemen, a Master of Arts in Women’s Studies at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies (Women’s Studies) at the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Her thesis title is “Gender and Development in the Republic of Yemen: A Post-Colonial Critique”. She aspires through her research to illuminate pathways for gender-equitable development in Yemen, challenge entrenched postcolonial inequities, and inform policies that empower women amid conflict and reconstruction.
