Sarah Thompson is a Research Associate in the Pacific Islands Program at the Lowy Institute. Her research focuses on contemporary political, climate, and development challenges affecting Pacific Island States.

Prior to joining the Lowy Institute, Sarah worked with the Humanitarian Advisory Group and the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect. She holds a Master of International Development Practice from Monash University, where her research focused on intercultural competency in Pacific climate diplomacy.
