Suyin was formerly the Lowy Institute’s Chief Operating Officer.  She joined the Lowy Institute in March 2013 from Lonely Planet, the global travel content company, where she was Director of Strategy and Legal.

In her role as Director of Strategy and Legal, she was involved in operational strategy and corporate level business development, including strategic projects and partnerships such as the development of Lonely Planet’s new China business.  Prior to this she was Lonely Planet’s General Counsel working on the company’s growing digital and foreign language businesses.

Suyin started her career as an intellectual property and media lawyer at law firm, Mallesons.  Suyin graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts and Law (Honours).  Suyin has also been a director and Chair of the not-for-profit organisations, YWCA Victoria and Social Housing Victoria.
