Tim Johnston is an independent consultant. He was formerly the Asia Program Director for the International Crisis Group where he managed the organisation’s research, analysis and policy prescription in the Asia region and, prior to this, Tim worked as a foreign correspondent in Asia for more than 20 years. During this time he reported extensively for media including the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune and Reuters on countries such as Afghanistan, East Timor, Indonesia, Myanmar and Thailand, among others.
