Enhancing transparency in the multilateral trading system

On 4 July, the Lowy Institute, in cooperation with the Tasman Transparency Group, hosted a conference on Enhancing Transparency in the Multilateral Trading System. Drawing on experience in Australia and elsewhere, the conference examined the role of greater domestic transparency in enhancing the effectiveness of multilateral trade negotiations. The conference brought together an impressive array of speakers, including the Australian Trade Minister, the Hon Warren Truss, the New Zealand Shadow Trade Minister and former WTO negotiator for New Zealand, Tim Groser, and leading policy analysts from the United States, Indonesia, and Australia.Copies of the papers presented at the conference are available for download.Lowy Institute for International Policy
