The pace and scale of Australian anti-terror lawmaking in the decade following 9/11 has been quite staggering. Yes, it slowed with the change of government in 2007, but constitutional lawyer George Williams argued in his Lowy Lecture last Wednesday that it is still well beyond what the UK, US and Canada have done. And unlike the UK, we have not reversed course to any extent — the laws look here to stay.
