Are the best terrorism movies British?

Here's another promising trailer for a British film about terrorism. 'London River' was released in 2009, though as far as I can see, it hasn't yet been screened in Australia:

The other recent Brit terrorism film trailer that looked good was Four Lions, which we featured in a recent Friday Funny.

Now, I haven't yet seen London River or Four Lions, but both have been well received by critics. And when you consider In the Loop and Paul Greengrass' United 93, you start to think that the best English-language films about what we might call 'the age of terrorism' have a heavy British influence. You could also put Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight on this list, though personally, I found it morally questionable.

I'm not sure if this is a fair judgment or why it would be the case. But here's foreign policy expert Tom Ricks on why the best age-of-terrorism movies are not American (spoiler: it has to do with money).
