Lisa Denney

Lisa Denney is Director of the Centre for Human Security and Social Change at La Trobe University. With 20 years’ experience across Australia, the UK, sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific, she has led research and advised development programs, governments and civil society on program design, evaluation and training. Her work focuses on the politics of development, security–development relationships, governance, gender and access to justice, with a strong emphasis on grounding programs in local realities. She specialises in political economy analysis and adaptive programming, supporting policymakers and practitioners to apply these approaches. Lisa holds a PhD in International Politics from Aberystwyth University and authored Justice and Security Reform (Routledge, 2014).
