Mosmi Bhim
Dr Mosmi Bhim is a faculty member of the Department of Ethics and Governance at Fiji National University. She teaches Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences (BASS). Her PhD thesis, completed at the University of New England, Australia, is titled: “Authoritarian Regimes in Small Island States - The Anomalous Cases of Electoral Autocracies in Fiji, The Maldives and Seychelles”. From 2022-23, Dr Bhim was coordinator of the Youth Voter and Elections Education project, which comprised pre-election and post-election activities. From 7 October - 20 December 2024, she was a Pacific Visitors Program fellow at the Department of Pacific Affairs, Australian National University. She has published on elections, democracy, human rights and authoritarianism issues in Fiji, Maldives and Seychelles. Prior to joining academia, she was a Communications and Advocacy officer at the Fiji-based human rights NGO Citizens’ Constitutional Forum.
