Stephenie Andal is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. Her research, supervised by Professor John Keane at the Sydney Democracy Network, is cross-disciplinary and explores alternative theories to conventional understandings of sovereignty, power, and the State, with a focus on the intersection of surveillance, cyber politics, and digital technologies in the Asia-Pacific region. Stephenie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with Distinction) from the University of Calgary (Canada), and a master’s degree from the University of Oxford (UK).
