David Howell, a former Lowy Institute intern, reports:

Enjoying a small skim latte after lunch, my ears pricked up when I overheard three words: 'The Lowy Interpreter...'

I must admit that I listened in on the rest of the conversation, little peep I am. In short, a girl was telling a guy how refreshing it was to read about international relations on her way to work. And how reading The Interpreter made her wish she had gone into diplomacy instead of business.

I smiled. If Frank Lowy's goal was to enlarge the marketplace of ideas in Australia, then clearly The Interpreter is meeting his objective.
