Tim Macintyre from the Institute for Economics & Peace writes in response to Nick Floyd's piece on the Anglo-French treaty pooling defence resources:

Perhaps the UK and France could go one step further than a defence treaty and agree to share a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, selling the remaining seat to the highest bidder' A variation on this idea been suggested here by your very own Mark Thirlwell. Proceeds could be evenly split and would surely be welcomed by the respective treasuries. Just an idea...
