Internship vacancy - New social media
The quick spread of new communication technologies is changing the nature of politics internationally. From twitter-driven riots in Iran to citizen campaigns against land seizures in China to Obama’s tech-savvy presidential campaign, politics and technology are being fused as never before. The Lowy Institute is starting a project looking at this nexus and how technologies are transforming people’s knowledge and expectations of the world in which they live.
As part of this exciting project, we are looking for an intern with a good working knowledge of new social media and networks such as twitter, facebook, ichat, etc. with a particular interest in the stories and anecdotes about the uses of these networks for connecting people politically, rather than the technical aspects of these networks or the statistics on their use and spread.
If you are interested in this position please send a CV to Orietta Melfi at omelfi@lowyinstitute.org
