Testimonials
The Lowy Institute plays an important role by informing public opinion and encouraging debate on important international relations, defence and national security issues
ASIO’s membership of the Lowy Institute enables its staff to attend Lowy seminars and reflects the Organisation’s acknowledgement that access to external expertise and knowledge is vital to ensuring ASIO’s strategic thinking is progressive.
I value the writings of the Lowy Institute ……….the splendid paper by Rory Medcalf and Raoul Heinrichs which I actually took with me to Washington and recommended to people in the State Department. Its bottom-line recommendation for confidence building measures – military cooperation – in the seas of East Asia, I thought a very serious and timely contribution to our debate
When you consider your philanthropic spend you need to include an Institute like the Lowy because it generates ideas that will change society in a very, very quick way especially now given all the challenges we’re facing.
It’s not a profit making cause, it’s a knowledge delivery platform of excellence. The better decisions it makes for better outcomes and so therefore it’s more than a worthy cause to support.
What you get from Lowy is unique. It is unique within Australia, there’s no question.
In the Asian century, understanding international trends and Australia’s role in the world is critical to business. The Lowy Institute provides a unique opportunity to engage with people, ideas and issues that add to our understanding of what is driving change both in Australia and throughout world.
The Lowy Institute blog runs useful comments on international economics by Mark Thirlwell and commentary on current international financial and economic issues by Stephen Grenville, as perceptive as the best you’ll find in The Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times, but far more comprehensible.
