Andrea Fahey

Andrea Fahey is a PhD scholar at ANU National Security College. She is a political expert having dealt with different electoral cycles during United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) 2007 and 2012 elections, and United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) 2010 elections. She has collaborated with Timorese NGO in education during 2008-2009.

Andrea’s main research interests include Australia’s strategic relation with Timor-Leste; UN peacekeeping missions; democratic processes in Southeast Asia and the Portuguese colonial system in South East Asia. Her thesis topic is Australia’s strategic relation with Timor-Leste with a focus is on the compilation of primary source materials from Australian, British, American and Portuguese Archives.
