Dr Ann Deslandes is an Australian journalist, writer and researcher. She has reported on the impacts of the “war on drugs” in Mexico and conflict between armed non-state actors for Foreign Policy, The Guardian, and PRI’s The World. She is the creator and author of “The Troubled Region”, a newsletter that tracks the changing face of foreign correspondence in a globalised, digital world. Ann lives in Mexico City with Gareth Evans, her cat.
