Prior to joining The Australian National University as a PhD scholar, Derek Futaiasi was a public servant and worked as the Deputy Secretary to Prime Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Solomon Islands. His current PhD research focuses on the role of state and non-state actors in relation to the regulation of Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) in Solomon Islands.
