Melissa Jardine

Melissa Jardine, PhD, is a Partner Investigator on an Australian Research Council Discovery Project exploring gender-responsive policing in the Pacific with the University of the South Coast. She is also a consultant for UNODC’s Global HIV/AIDS Section and the Regional Office for Eastern Africa.

Dr Jardine is a former Australian police officer and security sector reform advisor. She travelled to Kabul in March 2021 on assignment for the United Nations. She is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for the International Association of Women Police. Her PhD was on policing in a changing Vietnam. She is the author of Women, Policing and Security: Reforming the Afghan National Police, published in 2022.
