Priya Pillai

Priya Pillai is an international lawyer and consultant, with expertise in international justice, transitional justice, human rights, and humanitarian issues. With over fifteen years of legal experience, Priya has worked in international organizations such as the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) headquarters in Geneva, and with various national institutions. She writes regularly on international law, with contributions to Al Jazeera, Rappler and Just Security, among others. She is an editor and contributor to the international law blog OpinioJuris.

Priya holds a PhD in international law and transitional justice from the Graduate Institute, Geneva; an LL.M from New York University; and a B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She is based in Manila, The Philippines and can be reached via or twitter @PillaiPriy
