Akiko Fukushima
Professor Akiko Fukushima is a Senior Fellow at the Tokyo Foundation.
She has a Master’s degree in International Economy and International Relations from Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in International Public Policy from Osaka University. She has previously held roles as Director of Policy Studies at the National Institute for Research Advancement (NIRA), Senior Fellow at the Japan Foundation, and Professor at the Aoyama Gakuin University. She has also been a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia and has been a member of the Japanese government committees including a member of Prime Minister Abe’s Advisory Panel on National Security and Defense Capabilities.
