Angelina Bruno is the 2026 Michael and Deborah Thawley Scholar in International Security at the Lowy Institute and Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Her research examines energy security asymmetries in the Indo-Pacific, Chinese economic growth, and global spillovers for Pacific Island countries.
Angelina is an Australian economist and policy analyst who specialises in building the evidence base behind policy recommendations. She is currently an Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia and is completing a Master of International Public Policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), focusing on China, Southeast Asia, and security studies.
She has previously worked at the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, IP Australia, the Queensland Productivity Commission, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
