Fran Witt is a senior strategist in advocacy, campaigning and movement building with more than 15 years’ experience advancing climate, economic and social justice.
Throughout their career, they have worked with civil society organisations, grassroots movements and international NGOs to build collective power, influence decision-makers and drive meaningful systemic change. Their work is grounded in a deep commitment to equity, solidarity and human rights, with a particular focus on addressing the structural inequalities that underpin climate breakdown, energy poverty and economic injustice. As part of the Climate & Energy Justice Collective, they support organisations to develop bold, evidence-based strategies that accelerate a just transition away from fossil fuels towards equitable, sustainable renewable energy systems.
Their career spans leadership, advisory and campaign roles with organisations including Oxfam, Christian Aid, Recourse and Anti-Slavery International, where they have helped shape advocacy and mobilisation strategies at national and global levels. They have extensive experience influencing key international processes and institutions, including the UNFCCC and COP negotiations, multilateral development banks, and governments across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Their expertise includes climate justice policy, just energy transition, climate finance, coalition building, facilitation, strategic planning, research and fundraising - supporting partners to translate ambitious ideas into impactful collective action and lasting change.
