Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the first woman and first African to hold the office of Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
She is an economist and international development professional with more than 40 years of experience, including as a Managing Director at the World Bank. She has twice served as Nigeria's Finance Minister (2003–06 and 2011–15) and also served as the country's Foreign Minister in 2006. In 2021, Time magazine recognised her as one of the world's most influential people.
