Beasts of No Nation, staring Idris Elba and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, best known for the first season of True Detective, revolves around the experiences of a child soldier fighting in a civil war in Africa. The distribution of the movie is also interesting in that the rights were bought entirely by Netflix, and it will be released simultaneously online and in theatres. The movie has been getting great reviews on the film festival circuit, and an in-depth interview with Elba on his role can be found in the New York Times here.
