Dave Sharma was a federal member of parliament for the seat of Wentworth from 2019 to 2022 and served as Australia’s Ambassador to Israel from 2013 to 2017.

As a career diplomat prior to entering parliament, he was also posted to Washington DC and Port Moresby, served as a peacekeeper with the Peace Monitoring Group in Bougainville, and headed the international division within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Dave studied at the University of Cambridge, where he graduated with first-class honours in Law. He also has a Master of Arts from Cambridge and a Master of Arts (International Relations) from Deakin University.
