Heribert Dieter is Senior Fellow in the Global Issues Research Unit at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin.
Heribert Dieter is Senior Fellow in the Global Issues Research Unit at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin. Herbert has written about regional integration in the Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Central Asia, as well as monetary regionalism and the international financial system. His current research focus is on globalisation and the future of the global trading system, which appears to be undermined by increasing bilateral trade agreements. Since 2013, he is a visiting professor for international political economy at Zeppelin University, Lake Constance. Heribert studied political science and economics at the Free University of Berlin and at the Australian National University in Canberra. He holds a doctorate in economics and political science from the Free University of Berlin, where he has been an adjunct professor since 2005.
