Sjamsu Rahardja is a senior economist for the World Bank Trade & Competitiveness Global Practice and now living in Myanmar, leading the World Bank country program on trade facilitation and logistics.
Sjamsu Rahardja is a senior economist for the World Bank Trade & Competitiveness Global Practice and now living in Myanmar, leading the World Bank country program on trade facilitation and logistics. He joined the East-Asia Pacific unit of the Bank in Washington, DC in 2004 before moving to work for World Bank office in Indonesia program. Prior joining the World Bank, Mr Rahardja was a visiting fellow and the Peterson Institute for International Economics and at the International Food and Policy and Research Institute, both in Washington, DC. He also worked for the Institute for Economics and Social Research (LPEM) of University of Indonesia.
Mr. Rahardja has a PhD in economics from Georgetown University and MSc in regional science from Cornell University and undergraduate degree in economics from University of Indonesia.
His work interests are on international trade, trade logistics, and political economy of reforms.
