James Bowen is a Policy Fellow at the Perth USAsia Centre. He is currently working on the intersection of hydrogen sector development and regional cooperation, as well as European engagement with the Indo-Pacific. James was previously a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Centre from 2018 to 2020.
James was a Visiting Research Fellow at Berlin’s Mercator Institute for China Studies in late 2019. From 2015 to 2017 he worked at the International Peace Institute in New York City, editing its flagship Global Observatory publication and contributing to programs on countering and preventing violent extremism. He has also consulted for international political risk firms active in Australia.
