Kerryn Baker

Kerryn is a Research Fellow in Pacific Politics with SSGM. Her PhD thesis, submitted in 2014, examined campaigns for parliamentary gender quotas in the Pacific Islands region, with case studies in Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Bougainville and the French Pacific territories. Her main research interests are electoral politics and electoral reform in Melanesia and the broader Pacific Islands region. Her research has a particular focus on women’s political representation, and she has conducted research on legislative measures to increase women’s representation, as well as the campaign strategies of women candidates in elections.
