Sophie McNeill on her Lowy Institute Media Award nomination
Sophie McNeill is nominated for the 2017 Lowy Institute Media Award for her coverage of the siege of Aleppo, and her Foreign Correspondent episode ‘Yemen: The War on Children’ (shot by cameraman Aaron Hollett). The Walkley Award-winning special revealed the impact of Yemen’s civil war on the nation’s children.
Sophie McNeill is Middle East Correspondent at the ABC. She has twice been awarded ‘Australian Young TV Journalist of the Year’ and in 2010 won a Walkley Award for her investigation into the killing of five children in Afghanistan by Australian Special Forces soldiers.
