“What languages do you speak?”
I was puzzled by the question, but the woman at the ASEAN-Australia summit back in March was earnestly pointing at the media credentials on the badge around my neck. Languages? Oh, wait – “The Interpreter”. Gotcha!
My language skills barely cover English, but as a page devoted to analysis of the world, The Interpreter does have a polyglot flavour in terms of topics covered, thanks to the array of sharp Lowy Institute researchers and valued contributors that make this page a compelling daily read.
This year saw some 780 articles published, reaching an audience of more than three million – the vast majority across Asia and the Pacific.
And in terms of attracting eyeballs, here is the Top 10 most-read articles for 2024.
We’re having a short break from today, with regular service to resume on 6 January 2025. All best wishes from The Interpreter team.
